Supported Independent Living

Unique Support Services can provide supported independent living to eligible participant’s so that they may achieve their goals. We provide the support required for daily tasks to assist in living as independently as possible.

What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

NDIS-funded SIL arrangements provide assistance with supervising tasks of daily life in a personal living environment. Funding includes having support workers that clients may need in order to achieve their independent living goals. Unique Support Services focuses on developing the skills of each individual to live as independently as possible.

SIL arrangements usually do not include day to day living expenses such as food and activities, or the costs of the individual’s accommodation. Clients with a SIL arrangement may also have Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) package, which covers the cost of the physical accommodation.

We support SIL arrangements via our small, local Neighborhood Teams

  • Local connections – support by local people, to live more inclusively in local community
  • Flexibility to meet client needs – personal assistance, support for community activities, independence skill building, finding a job, finding a housing option
  • Highest standards in quality and safeguarding – all staff interviewed and screened, supervision by experienced sector professional, Unique Supports NDIS quality audited
  • Consistency of support, now and into the future – Unique Supports is an established national provider, and our teams can support clients over many years, or however long required – important when informal supports are in transition, or may not be there for all time
